Sunday February 4th

Not only do I have Monday morning to dread, I have a Monday morning that's supposed to be -8 degrees to dread. That is going to be bleak. My usual obsession with finding and retaining warmth has reached new extremes now that its pretty much nowhere to be found. In the past week I have been not-cold on three occasions
1. 1/29/07 9-9:30 am when I took a scalding shower
2. 2/1/07, 2-4 pm when I ran to class wearing nearly every article of clothing I own and sweated the entire time
3. 2/2/07 4-5 pm when we took a sauna

Other than the cold though, the semester is off to a great start. I'm only taking three classes: Latin America & the US, Russian Seminar on "Master and Margarita," and Dostoevsky in translation. They're difficult but suprisingly relaxed. Small classes, professors I know well, material I'm actually interested in, type thing.

Max & I are together now and I am... really, really thrilled about it : D I know people have been asking about him, so I guess I will try to answer, though it isn't so easy to describe someone. Anyways, he is a poli-sci major from Washington state just returning from studying abroad in London. We met last spring and kept in touch while I was in St Petersburg and then while he was in London; I was sort of worried that it would be strange transitioning from correspondence to an actual relationship, but it hasn't been at all, its been really natural and wonderful.

In other news, its back to DC February 21-23. I'm hoping this time I'll be able to see Kristin!
