Just about what you guessed, but leaning more towards the toughen up aspect. Fred used to hang out with his Uncle Fred at the summer cow camp and I think he got the saying "cowboy up" from him. A. Margie

For the meat...gross I know. Our group had lunch at Rabuco and they prepared one ostrich egg for all 35 of us, and it was plenty!
